Synopsis
亨利（迈克尔·基顿MichaelKeaton饰）是一名报社的编辑，他的妻子玛莎（玛丽莎·托梅MarisaTomei饰）身怀六甲即将临盆，因此，他非常渴望能够从《纽约太阳报》被调到《前哨报》工作，以获得更加丰厚的薪水。一场谋杀案的发生轰动了整个城市，两名白人在案件中被害，而遭到逮捕的两名犯罪嫌疑人均为黑人。亨利在报纸的头条上刊登了黑人被捕的消息，这一举动导致《前哨报》撤销了对他的招聘决定。玛莎通过追踪种种蛛丝马迹，最终发现两名黑人青年是无辜的，而警察逮捕他们只是为了装点门面。亨利再度将这一真相刊登在了报纸的头条上，第二天，《纽约太阳报》被抢售一空。
