Synopsis
不久之前，安妮（凯瑟琳·赫本 Katharine Hepburn 饰）刚刚和丈夫麦克（罗伯特·米彻姆 Robert Mitchum 饰）携手步入婚礼的殿堂，新婚燕尔的幸福刚刚维持没多久，麦克的种种反常举动开始让安妮怀疑，他是否患有精神上的疾病，她甚至怀疑自己的性命会遭受麦克的威胁。 麦克的弟弟艾伦（罗伯特·泰勒 Robert Taylor 饰）来到了安妮的家中，家里出现的第三人缓和了紧张的气氛，但很快的，安妮就发现艾伦和麦克之间似乎有着无法调和的严重矛盾。艾伦死了，诸多的线索都将凶手指向了麦克，但是麦克所表现出来的无辜却又让安妮经不住开始怀疑起事件的真相来。
