Synopsis
广西壮族自治区的北部湾开发区飞速发展，而这个北部湾的人家——韦家却相继迎来一系列映射出整个广西发展过程中出现的喜怒哀乐。 韦家家主韦大壮作为一个退休老干部，本来该是颐养天年的，但是家中女主人——韦大壮的后妻简淑贤却有了阿尔兹海默症的前兆。简淑贤是大学里教授中国古代民族文化的教授，自小接受贵族教育的华侨后代。简教授身上有着知识分子的执拗和温文尔雅的气质，在得老年痴呆症之后，她为了不让学生们因为她而接受错误、混乱的知识，毅然退出自己奋斗一生的讲台，给学生们留下最瑰丽的文化与身影。
