Synopsis
纯朴善良的农民杨树根（邱林饰）来到花花绿绿的县城，此行的目的是跟大舅哥梅来（王景春饰）寻找在城里打工的老婆梅花。进城后，他们暂住在梅来租住的房子里，然后二人分头找工作，不料梅来遇上了黑中介，因用极端手段索要中介费被抓了起来。而树根则因祸得福，结识建筑公司经理袁媛（俞欣彤饰），谋得一份工作，由于吃苦肯干，赢得老板王奎（姜彤饰）信任，令其回乡招工，招人返城的一干人马在工地上干了半年，却得不到王奎当时所承诺的工钱，而此时农民工小顺子突发急症等着用钱，大家讨要无果还遭毒打，杨树根忍无可忍，采取了极端行为……
