Synopsis
破风筝是一位民间艺人，在日军占领北平期间，不认受辱的破风筝带着义女珍珠离开了赖以生存的家园，四处流浪，在流浪期间，破风筝从来没有放弃过自己的事业理想，在正直的文艺青年王力的帮助之下，破风筝到处演唱宣传抗战的新鼓书，将革命的春风吹响了全国各地。 抗日战争结束后，破风筝带着珍珠终于回到了家乡，可是，本以为能够就此过上安稳日子的两人却屡屡遭到各方人马的骚扰和为难。破风筝大费周章终于组建了一支班子，有了自己的戏园子，哪知道在园子开张那天，因为得罪了军阀，园子被砸了。破风筝和珍珠再度面临着飘摇无依的生活。
