Synopsis
12世纪，日本贵族和僧侣拥有大片土地，并免除赋税，而国内经济如大厦将倾，岌岌可危。京都秩序一片混乱，地方灾难频发，暴动四起。占据统治地位的藤原家族日临西山，业已逊位白河天皇从寺院复出，重新掌权。日本从此一空两日，陷入分裂。武士和僧人之间的冲突日渐加剧。
