Synopsis
第二次世界大战后期，三个意大利战俘被送到苏格兰的一个农庄上。庄主年轻的妻子珍妮对这些远离家乡的人产生同情，其他妇女对此议论纷纷，说了很多闲话。珍妮甚至还和战俘中的—个人发生了关系。战争结束，一名战俘强奸一名妇女，珍妮的情人受到牵连。珍妮为他做了无罪证明，但是法律不保护战俘。他们陷入新的痛苦中
