Synopsis
80年前，革命歌曲《八月桂花遍地开》由商城县革命艺人王霁初根据商城民歌改编而成，从这片红色的土地上诞生并唱响全国。该电影以地主少爷王霁初从叛逆者走上革命道路，在庆祝河南省第一个县级苏维埃政权诞生时创作革命歌曲《八月桂花遍地开》的历程为主线，展开一系列曲折生动的革命故事情节。
