Synopsis
残酷惨烈的抗美援朝战争，彰显了中华儿女不可动摇的钢铁意志，也让本没有任何交集形同陌路的梁步贵（吴旗 饰）和石峰（吴刚 饰）结下了生死友谊。一别七年，这两个人却经历着不同的悲喜人生。梁因当年掩护石峰而身负重伤，以致于始终和妻子冬柳（李菁菁 饰）未能生养，各种磨难让冬柳的精神崩溃，疯疯癫癫，梁的事业也即将跌入谷底。感慨于战友的遭遇，石峰满心愧疚，于是不顾妻子高晓云（丁柳元 饰）的反对，将刚出生不久的儿子送给了梁步贵，这一决定让他迎来了长达四十年的夫妻冷战以及生活的磨难。 在此后的岁月里，这群平凡而赤诚的普通人随着古老国度兴衰起承而沉浮……
