Synopsis
多克（伯特·兰卡斯特暂无内容Burt暂无内容Lancaster暂无内容饰）和罗拉（雪莉·布思暂无内容Shirley暂无内容Booth暂无内容饰）本来享受着非常幸福的生活，可以一切都因为罗拉的怀孕而发生了改变。为了增加收入，多克不得不放弃了自己挚爱的研究事业，转行成为了一名按摩师。而罗拉最终没能顺利的生下孩子，不仅孩子没了，自己还丧失了生育能力，绝望之中，多克只能依靠酒精来麻痹自己的痛苦，而罗拉则将对孩子的感情寄托在家里的小狗身上，夫妻两人的脸上都再没有了曾经的笑容。
