Synopsis
倍受学生爱戴，事业如日中天的古典哲学教授比尔·金凯德（爱德华·诺顿EdwardNorton饰）听闻自己孪生兄弟布雷迪（爱德华·诺顿饰）的死讯后匆忙赶回奥克拉荷马州的老家，塔尔萨市的小迪克西镇。布雷迪的好友博尔格（提姆·布莱克·内尔森TimBlakeNelson饰）负责接机，到家后发现布雷迪并未中弩箭而亡。比尔虽然气愤，但仍同意翌日去养老院看望十几年都没见面的母亲（苏珊·萨兰登SusanSarandon饰）。布雷迪带比尔参观自己设计组装的第七代无土水栽优质大麻，并介绍他认识了当地中学的英语老师珍妮特（凯丽·拉塞尔KeriRussell饰）。就在比尔打算返回学校之际，他得知自己竟被卷入一起犹太毒枭（理查德·德莱福斯RichardDreyfuss饰）谋杀案……
