Synopsis
旧历三月云南大理，人民公社的副社长金花（杨丽坤）带领着姐妹们驱车去赶一年一次的“三月街”传统盛会，半路车坏，众人手足无措之时，遇到前来参加赛马会的剑川铁匠阿鹏（莫梓江），阿鹏将车修好，没等金花致谢就翻身上马冲进赛场勇夺冠军。赛后金花找机会与阿鹏接近，两人交谈中生出感情，相约来年山茶花盛开时再在蝴蝶泉边相见。 第二年阿鹏如约前来，左等右等不见金花身影，不知如何是好之时，他结识两位来自长春电影制片厂的音乐家与画家朋友，对方听完他的经历，立誓帮他找到金花。找寻中，积肥模范金花（孙静贞）、畜牧场金花（谭尧中）、炼钢厂金花（王苏娅）和拖拉机手金花（朱一锦）先后被阿鹏错当作他的真命天女，笑话闹了不少。
