Synopsis
这是一个现代寓言。法国青年拉法耶特与意大利中年男子诺查罗徘徊在纽约。拉法耶特在弗莱克曼看管的一间"罗马博物馆"工作，并在一所"妇女觉醒剧团"兼职。有一天，他遭到了剧团的一个女人的强奸，而他和诺查罗的住处竟遍地是老鼠的废墟。随后，他又收养了一个人猿的幼婴。在抚养幼婴的过程中，诺查罗不小心填错了资料，让小人猿变成了名正言顺的纽约公民。诺查罗却自杀身亡，将财物遗赠给人猿。后来，法拉耶特赫然发现人猿惨遭众鼠的吞噬。当初强奸他的女人成了他的女友。弗莱克曼一向不喜欢猴子，一怒之下，放火烧毁了博物馆和拉法耶特……
